Antivirus 2008 2009, do not buy!

September 19, 2008

Within the last month we at pcULTRAcare.com have seen an explosion of computers infected with one or two varieties of antivirus 2008 or 2009.  Its name changes (xp antivirus, smart antivirus, ms antivirus) but it uses similar popups that shows a fake scan and a fake list of infections.

The purpose of the scan and results is to get computer user to purchase (register) the antivirus program.  Do not input any personal information or your credit card information.  One must be careful with their credit card numbers and not trust a window popup requesting you to purchase a software.  Can’t tell if you really need the software find a tech or a computer savvy user to help you out.  A good rule is that it is not a good idea to buy any software that you do not recognize the name or origin of.

We at pcULTRAcare.com offer 30 minute phone and remote support sesions at a very low cost.  We can help you determine if you need the software in question.  Be careful out there.
